ML&L - Who did you listen to while growing up?
Sumann - Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Asha Bhonsle are few of the many artists I've grown up listening to.
ML&L - How has your music tastes changed since growing up?
Sumann - I love listening to any good music irrespective of their genre and language. My mood determines my preference.
ML&L - What do you think makes a song successful or not successful?
Sumann - For me a successful song is a one which keeps the artist alive rather than a commercial success which is forgotten in a few months.

ML&L - How do you connect with your fans?
Sumann - Even f I am too worked up, I make sure I have a quick check on them daily, through my social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
ML&L - How has movies affected your singing styles?
Sumann - In a country like India where you have Bollywood, where music and films go hand in hand, one cannot imagine a movie without music.
Hence Movies have had a huge impact on my singing style.
Sumann - As the magician doesn’t reveal his tricks, an artist as well, never exposes future projects in front of people.
Because each project is a collage of various thoughts. So once a piece changes, the whole collage comes out with a whole new meaning. So I’d like to stick to this policy here.
ML&L - Where do you intend to go as a playback singer?
Sumann - I just want to sing as many songs as I can, in the entire life. There are so many music genres which still are not practiced in India.
So I feel, even a lifetime is a very short span of time to touch all of it.
