Giban Valverde
8/07/1985, Sanlucar de Barrameda, Cadiz, Spain
ML&L - How did you become interested in music?
Giban - I have musical interests when I was about 15 years old. I discovered it and I even liked it when a friend came with the CD of UGK” Dirty Money”.
There started everything through this disc and so far it is still referents for me and my days.
ML&L - So you mostly tend to listen UGK. What else did you listen to a wide variety of hip-hop and rap before you started trying to make your own rhymes?
Giban - As I said mainly UGK, then Pimp C and Bun B, but I also flipped to 8Ball & MJG,Tres Coronas, TRIPLE X , Criminal Manne, Boosie and some others also.
Later some more classic like Eazy-E and The Notorious B.I.G. These artists influenced me much like 95 South.
ML&L - Who writes your songs? What's the message you’re trying to bring with your songs?
Giban - I compose my songs. It is my life my day to day, my pain, my sadness, my joy. Subjects are very varied depends on my state at that time. I can write about love, joy.
I hate sadness, in the end they are feelings and experiences of oneself, also my music is the neighborhood and its people the purity of all this.
ML&L - What do you have, which is going to make you different from other rappers and which would grab the attention of the listener?
Giban - Well what to make me different to the others, all say that I have a very charismatic and unique way of being myself, but I could not answer that.
So the listeners and followers of my music would have to answer this. They know well what makes me different from the other singers.

ML&L - What are your immediate music career goals?
Giban - Reach more listeners. Rock feels relieved and released with my lyrics and my music. Soon will be many projects mixtape and more surprises.
ML&L - How would you define your sound?
Giban - My sound is the sound of the street neighborhood of those who seek it day by day, to bring food to their home, for pure and real people, for my people,
my role is the sound and music of the neighborhood, the joy, the sorrows, all those sensations. I do not seal in a single objective I do music for all kinds of tastes as
that real music and without budget.
ML&L - Is there a story behind your music?
Giban - Well I think there are lot of stories behind all this, but everything was to relieve me and clear my mind of the bad things that surrounded me,
things that better not tell , but I will tell you in another interview more.
ML&L - As you wish. So what are the main themes or topics for most of your songs?
Giban - I don’t have a main theme for my songs.
I speak of love if I feel love, I speak of pain when I feel pain, joys or things hot according to the mood and like this at that moment therefore what my mind tells me.

ML&L - GSMM -Gang Soul Music Movement, how you connected?
Giban - We are friends from neighborhood. My good friend who is producer and real brother Sumi was the person who started all this and which I offered to record songs.
Since that time we have not stopped and began to grow our group GSMM.
ML&L - What would be your dream collaboration with any rapper or producer?
Giban - Well I would like to be able to collaborate with American artists.
Ryan Leslie would be one of those artists with whom I would be glad to collaborate musically because for me it is a great production.
ML&L - What live performance experience have you had?
Giban - Well the truth it's little experiences, like 3 or 4 occasions. I participated in small hippie festivals, Show in Cadiz and good little events, nothing of the big world.
But we're finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and there will be some pretty good future projects.
ML&L - What is the most difficult thing you’ve had to endure in the music industry?
Giban - Good and hard things no more than life puts you hard things. The music in my case is something very positive is my psychology
and good if I had to put something negative is the few opportunities that is given to the underground rock.
All our artists from underground, but we work as much as the famous artists or even more.

ML&L - What do you think which factors would separate you from the crowd?
Giban - Because that's what I said before all are based on having a style only one, if they do trap because everything what they do is trap, do not make for example old school,
my difference is that I can join and any style of beat or melody, be trap, rap, Hip hop or RnB while I transmit the melody the beat.
ML&L - Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organizations?
Giban - I belong to gang soul music movement/GSMM/. It is a group created between Sumi /Caraballo/ and me, he is my producer for many years.
Now he is in New Jersey and working in tattoo shop. We are the artifices of created in a very humble and poor Spanish neighborhood but with much art and we create this now.
I have my channel alone but we are still active on the channel of the group, uploading music and videos and we are around 8 people from Cadiz.
ML&L - What would you be doing if you weren't making music?
Giban - Well I think if I was not doing music I would be maybe in bad companies. Music saved me.
ML&L - Do you have any advice for new singers-rappers?
Giban - A tip do not listen to me, it's nothing, because we have to help each other and support us.
ML&L - Do you have other interests or talents you would like to share with us?
Giban - Well I have talent , I edit videos also and good facts that I will not disclose. Greetings to all and a love for all.
Also I want to say thank you May.Life & Live for this opportunity.
