Inspired from most of the famous iconic fashion designers of the last century Marina decided to
try make own brand and style – Marina Avetti. She make design all the time, as a way of getting further inspiration and also showing her progression.

ML&L - Hi Marina. Thank you for your time in May.Life. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Marina Avetti - I was born in 1990 in Yerevan, Armenia. I graduated Yerevan State University Faculty of History /Art Studies.
I am Bachelor of Art. I have music education too. I take piano lessons and guitar. So I would describe myself as creative personality.
Always I made something-different compositions, decorations, accessories etc. Also I did decoration and make up for Halloween. Few years ago I started my personal brand of clothes and accessories - Marina Avetti.
ML&L - Why did you decide to choose fashion designing as a career?
Marina Avetti - In fact, I was interested in every kind creativity.
I am not one of students which have worked for Dior, Chanel or Vogue. It also means I haven't got to meet the person behind the work, which is so important sometimes.
I'm Autodidact, Thinker, Designer. I am Tailor, Dressmaker and model for my collection in the same time. Now I am trying to use of fashion and business networking sites for my brand.
You never know who might be looking at your online profiles.
ML&L - What skills are important for a successful career in fashion design?
Marina Avetti - So important to have wide array of skills, including drawing, an eye for color and texture, sewing and cutting.
It's so individual. But I try everyday learn more and more, learn something new. Fashion can be also a very stressful career choice. Sometimes I am so stressful that
I can't find some material or detail which I want or when I can't show my collection in world etc. In effect you must be prepared to devote hours of time to perfecting your craft.

ML&L - Describe about your internship period?
Marina Avetti - So if I back to designer’s career and remember how I have received my training,
I just can ask that I all did myself. I haven't like some fashion designers which are have received professional training with high profile internships.
I am now studying the history of fashion to better understand its development and current tendencies. I am yet not developed as a professional designer,
but my dream is to become a famous with my unique style. When I look the fashion world photos, of course, there is a lot of work behind the nice pictures, including makeup, hairstyle, photography,
lighting and so on. I know that in my portfolios there are no professionality, because I all do myself. Trying to do all at once and alone myself sometimes get me discouraged. But I am trying to do my best!
ML&L - How would you describe your personal style?
Marina Avetti - Personal style means what one personally like to wear and what kind of style you follow. I like differences.
It depends on for where and for which event I make my collection. I have lot of themes - Greek Inspired style, oriental style, classic style, carnival style etc.
Of course I follow the trends of fashion world, but I have my own style and I am trying to make my notes and my ideas.
ML&L - In what general area of design do you wish to work?
Marina Avetti - The areas are generally divided into three groups: street fashion, ready-to-wear and haute couture.
Important to realize what you need and wait. I think I dream to be an expert in haute couture. Nowadays I just trying to mix some tails of high street fashion -
Women's daywear, women's evening wear or costume design for theaters, movies, the advertising industry and retailers.
ML&L - What is your favorite motto about fashion?
Marina Avetti - Famous quote on style from fashion icons Coco Chanel "Fashion is always of the time in which you live." and
"I don't do fashion. I am fashion."
ML&L - Where would you like your career in fashion to lead you?
Marina Avetti - Talent is not enough - I need to make sure everybody knows about my skills.
I have artistic vision myself, but anyway I need help for promoting my brand. I know sometimes must not be shy about asking for help. With this in mind we all know we can learn from each other.
Being a successful fashion designer not only requires talent and creativity, it also requires a sound knowledge of the business and marketing aspects of the fashion world.
ML&L - What are your plans for the future?
Marina Avetti - In general, I continue learn and learn more about the fashion.
Knowing more will help me to be a better designer myself. I’m also working on my collection. Who knows maybe one day I open my personal boutique and website.
Under those circumstances I am staying open to other interesting opportunities.
