Micah Parker- Drummer

Chase Coleman- Lead singer /rhythm guitarist

Chris Weaver- Lead guitarist

ML&L - What inspired you to make music together?

Chase Coleman - The band was formed around January of 2017. It developed due to mutual interests in music and performance by myself, Robert (former member) and Chris.

ML&L - How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?

Chase Coleman - I met Chris through Robert, and we've known each other for about 2 years I'd say.

ML&L - Who musical influences initially pushed you towards your chosen genre?

Chase Coleman - Back in high school and college I listened dominantly to Tool, Deftones, A Perfect Circle, but recently have been more influenced by alt rock / electronic style bands like The 1975, 30 Seconds to Mars, Kings of Leon, Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, etc.

ML&L - Could you briefly describe the music-making process?

Chase Coleman - A majority of the time it will begin with a tune or melody inspired by the muse when it hits me, which I'll develop a basic structure or hook of a song to.  I'll share this basic structure with Chris and we'll start forming our song that way. Lyrics tend to come last as I attempt to interpret the music with words.

ML&L - What has been your biggest challenge as a band?

Chase Coleman - Since a majority of my career focus has been acting for many years, I still make sure to put in as much attention as I can into the acting, which would obviously pull focus from music.  It's difficult traveling, touring and playing music while also being available for auditions and acting work.  There's the other obvious difficulty of how playing music and touring as a band can get expensive as well, so we've had to organize and manage that.

ML&L - Which songs do you perform most frequently?

Chase Coleman - We try to perform our top popular original songs like Breathe, Lost In You, Mystery, and Take It All.  We also tend to throw in a cover or 2 as well to keep people excited.

Lost In You (acoustic)

ML&L - Which bands are you currently listening to and who, more than any other, would you like to share the stage with?

Chase Coleman - I've been a huge fan of 30 Seconds to Mars for many years, and would love to open for them one day. I'd also have a blast getting to open for The 1975 or Kings of Leon!

ML&L - Please share more about your upcoming shows?

Chase Coleman - We have an awesome acoustic show in Paris this coming weekend, but our biggest upcoming show in Europe are our 2 London concerts on June 1st and 2nd.  June 1st is an awesome VIP exclusive Acoustic show where we'll play some tunes we won't play on our full live band show on the 2nd.  Both shows are gonna be awesome and fun, so I really hope all the UK fans AND European fans come out!

ML&L - How's the Tour Going?

Chase Coleman - Absolutely amazing! We love getting the opportunities to play in front of so many beautiful people all over the world!

ML&L - What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?

Chase Coleman - Make sure you're always having a good time and enjoying the process and journey of developing your music.  It is an adventure as musicians, and all adventures have ups and downs.

ML&L - What should Mercy Mode fans look forward to for 2018 and beyond?

Chase Coleman - We're going to look at getting back into the studio after the conclusion of our European tour and we're also excited about playing in Brazil in September!  However, we can't forget to say how excited we are to play all of our domestic shows with Creation Entertainment the rest of this year!
