ML&L - How did you get into DJing?
Kai Hillmann - I started with music in school and so it kind of switch over to a passion and to my job.
ML&L - Who is your biggest inspiration?
Kai Hillmann - My audience.
ML&L - Who were your early mentors?
Kai Hillmann - Actually no one. I started all by myself. Surely there we some DJs I was looking up, but that’s about it.
ML&L - You made your first steps into the electronic direction 90s. What was the first event you ever played at/put on?
Kai Hillmann - Illegal rave party in eastern part of Germany.
ML&L - With your unmistakable mix of Deep House and House you have conquered the international club scenes. What live performance experience have you had?
Kai Hillmann - My live experiences are in St. Petersburg, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Ibiza, Mallorca, Berlin, Hamburg ,Mexico, Luxembourg, Austria, Swiss.
If there is good music the people will dance and have fun, it doesn`t matter where, club, concert or life act.

Kai Hillmann - Magnetic Festival. 10.000 people.
ML&L - First feeling of being star-struck?
Kai Hillmann - I think I’m still the same person, so there’s no star struck at all.

Kai Hillmann - As long as possible. Every playtime has different vibes.

Kai Hillmann - Playing the right track on the right time and being very good in social media. That’s all it takes.

Kai Hillmann - Actually I just feel the music and turn my mind off...for me quite relaxing.

Kai Hillmann - Have a good feeling for music and being always right on time.

Kai Hillmann - Because the music industry is more commercial and therefore more known also in other genres.
ML&L - What advice or tips would you give to up and coming DJs/Promoters?
Kai Hillmann - Work HARD again!
ML&L - You are regularly booked by the Berlin clubs. When all the partying is over how do you like to chill out?
Kai Hillmann - A good glass of wine, hanging with friends and a good meal in a good restaurant.
ML&L - What do you personally consider to be the incisive moments in your artistic career?
Kai Hillmann - Playing in front of 10 000 people and when the beat drops all the hands are up in the air.
ML&L - What are your immediate music career goals?
Kai Hillmann - Playing in clubs I didn't have yet and in countries I've never been yet.
