Galina Solodka: “The sun will shine on my side of the fence”

ML&L - Hi Galina, welcome to May.Life. Tell us about yourself and your music carrer.

Galina Solodka - It all started more about in 1996 with the Festival "Chervona Ruta" in which I took part, while still young and not experienced. Trying myself as a singer on the big stage, I dreamt to conquer the Ukrainian Estrada. From this year, I began to actively act on the events of the Kherson region, I won many festivals. When I was 6 years old I went to a music school in the class of "academic vocal", after the Art Lyceum in class "Pop vocal". But it was not as easy as I thought at the time. After school twice a week I went to the music school, a music studio, ballroom dancing, Sambo, Judo. In 2009, I went to the so-called gap year . I tired of everything lost muse, I have not been able to return to the right track. Only in 2014 year, I decided to come back, with my songs, with beautiful people, who believe in my talent and help it realize. It is very important to have people who can support.


ML&L - In your musical roots what have been the greatest influence?

Galina Solodka - Hard to say, a musician without music - is like a fish without water. The new environment, new people, great musicians, cute animals, dogs, nature. And most importantly returned my muse.


ML&L - What inspired you to start singing?

Galina Solodka - When I was child, I sang songs of Alla Pugacheva, Sofia Rotaru, etc. I knew music- is the meaning of my life. Because certainly hope does not leave ever, I believe that the sun will shine on my side of the fence. My mother is a very talented, but she couldn't become a singer, cause of she had vocal cords problems. That's why she did her best, that I become a singer. Since I am the only child in the family- who has a vocal skills. My parents believe in me, it gives me the strength to do. I promised my mother that will fulfill her dream and aspire to anything.

ML&L - When people write songs, they write their feelings. With this in mindYou write your own songs, do you find it hard work?

Galina Solodka - Yes, I exclusively execute my own songs . Text must write vocalist because can endure all meaning - only in that's way can song sounds from the heart. The only way to convey to the listener your inner experiences. The music for my texts writes a wonderful composer. I am not able to write a music - perhaps not grown yet. It is difficult to master the musical program. But I am learning and think I will do everything myself in the future.


ML&L - In which situations coming inspiration to writing songs?

Galina Solodka - Inspiration is like the wind comes out of nowhere. This can be seen by the scene, experiences, friends quarrel, divorce, etc. All that I see, that touched my soul, I write about it. I am very sensitive person. I can see something and cry like a little baby, and I can just enjoy the little things. I can not just sit down and write something, because someone asked.

ML&L - You've been a soloist with several rock bands, which ones and why you left the bands?

Galina Solodka - I was a soloist of groups "Hmary na Dahu," "Kolіr Neba", "Tears in Heaven". I was a soloist of groups "Hmary na Dahu," "Kolіr Neba", "Tears in Heaven". I cunningly escaped like a Kolobok (ML: Kolobok is the main character of an East Slavic national fairy tale). The guys were focused on hard rock that I sincerely didn’t like. Some guys pulled into the pit, some were doing nothing, all throwing off on me. Others very talented, but not believe in themselves. I gasped with them, I had to create my own, all this they did not give me, so my hands were tied.


ML&L - Which song brought you popularity or fans?

Galina Solodka - I 'm not popular yet that to talk about the songs. Different audiences, different opinions, different tastes. I have just returned, I have everything ahead.


ML&L - What is concerts for you?

Galina Solodka - First of all, to share with the audience my creativity, to tell all that in my heart. And when the song are listened then can understand them. This is the biggest reward.


ML&L - Describe your feelings and emotions towards your audience.

Galina Solodka - Very warm, I want everybody to be happy and loved. And if I can paint with my creativity gray days of our weary people, I'm just happy.


ML&L - Many novice singers. What do you think, what is your main difference between them?

Galina Solodka - Everyone is different from anyone else. All individual. Therefore it is difficult to say. With that, I do not have a lot of friends novice performers. Yes, and do not compare myself with others. We are all different, because we are human beings and can not be similar to each other.

ML&L - What artists do you listen and which would offer you to first listen new singers and and why?

Galina Solodka - I'm an omnivore, I listen everything. Lately, I'm busy with my creativity. Suggest listen all the music. After all, music is the medicine of soul and soul is the eternal music.


ML&L - And in the end what are your goals and plans for the future?

Galina Solodka - The main work are new songs. In 2015 we would like to finish the album, "Ti mojesh," and I hope we will do it. Also implementing a new project contest -festival "Pokaji talant miru." We want to help young talents to express themselves in music, bring their talents to the audience, to express themselves. Every Saturday, we make the Festival ,where can attend all interested persons, as well as singers, groups and dance groups.
